Journal: European Science Editing

Aims and Scope

The EASE journal European Science Editing (ESE) publishes articles covering all aspects of scientific editing and publishing.  It includes research articles, meeting reports, essays and viewpoints, book and website reviews, as well as highlighting events, resources and publications of interest to members. An informative and entertaining read, it helps editors keep up to date with major issues that are relevant to them.

ESE is published quarterly, and digital and print versions are free to all EASE members. The current paper copy is sent out by post and digital copies of current and past issue are held in the Journal Archive (you must be logged in to the site). Past issues of the Journal (from February 2003) are made freely available 6 months after print publication. Sample copies may be requested from the Secretary.

ESE is indexed by all the major indexing services including Scopus.

An International Advisory Board is responsible for submitting article(s) relevant to the scope of the journal. Its members act as reviewers in their field of expertise and promote ESE to potential authors. Members are appointed for three years.

ESE is a peer-reviewed journal. New manuscripts are welcome and should be sent to the relevant member of the Editorial Board.

Authors who would like to submit a manuscript for publication in the  EASE journal, European Science Editing are invited to download the ESE Instructions for Authors. This includes copy deadlines and relevant contact information.

Please note that a new version of the instructions was published in September 2014. This replaces the June 2012 version.

Please send your letters to the Editor to our Chief Editor, Ksenija Baždarić ( General correspondence should be addressed to the Correspondence Section of the Editorial Board.


ESE is free to all EASE members as part of their membership package. Sample copies may be requested from the Secretary.

María del Carmen Ruíz Alcocer of AMERBAC and the Mexican Chapter of EASE has kindly provided Spanish translations of abstracts of ESE articles beginning with the November 2013 issue. Translations can be downloaded for free by following this link. EASE is very grateful for this initiative and would welcome similar suggestions for other languages.
